I considering buying a used Hobie 16 or 18 and am interested in comments on performance from the "experts". I will mainly sail alone and occasionally with 1 (330lbs total) or 2 (490lbs). I have found a great buying guide at http://www.justsail.com/Catamaran.htm with info on structure and dating.
I have a small amount of sailing experince with a sunfish and will sail primarily on the Sacandaga and Lake Ontario.
What model is a dryer sail for those spring and fall days? Can a novice handle an 18 alone?
