Welcome to the Village & Town of Waterford New York, Oldest Continuously Incorporated Village in the United States. Located in Southern Saratoga County where the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers Merge. The New York State Canal Corporation is operated by The New York State Thruway Authority maintaining The Erie and Champlain Canals which both start here in the Village.
At Battery Park in the village of Waterford you will be able to tie to the walls approaching Lock 2 Erie with no known time limit and no charge. There is now a dock and visitor center open and has seen a lot of use since its install and makes boarding much easier, currently there is no charge for docking, the time limit is 72 hours unless an emergency is declaired. The ramp to the dock is wide and long making it easy even for wheelchair access. There is also electric and pump-out service. The Village did get final approval of the HUD grant which means we should see many improvements in the near future. From the new dock it is a short walk north to Broad Street. There is also a floating dock across the river to the east behind the Price Chopper Supermarket.
